Karl-Anthony Towns played like Draymond Green has never seen him before vs Warriors, ‘probably the most…’

Draymond Green and Karl-Anthony Towns battled it out in the Golden State Warriors vs New York Knicks game on Saturday night.

Although Green got the last laugh as his side secured a 97-94 win, courtesy of a dagger scored by him on Karl-Anthony Towns.

The Knicks center had a great game himself, scoring 29 points and grabbing 12 rebounds on the night to keep his team in the game.

After missing the last game against the Warriors due to death of his girlfriend – Jordyn Woods’ close friend as revealed by New York Post, KAT has been in fine form scoring over 20 in all but one of his last five games.

Draymond Green suspected Towns missing the game was due to Jimmy Butler’s arrival, which obviously was not true and the 35-year-old was later informed what had happened.

Green apologised for his comments, but many felt that he did not take full accountability, which meant all eyes were going to be on how KAT for this game against the Warriors.

In what was an intense matchup between the two, Towns showed his abilities, which led to Green lauding the Knicks player for his performance.

Speaking in his post-game press conference, Green said: “It was good to see KAT show up and play like that. He played hard, played well.

“He was physical. Probably the most physical I’ve ever seen him.

“Had some extra motivation so that made the game really fun, that was great.”

Towns seemed locked in and even went at Green for something the Warriors player said to him during the game.

“He kind of fed into what everybody else was saying, well it was a little extra motivation, but I like battles so if that forces a guy to play hard, great.

“I ain’t never seen him like talk, so I enjoyed that,” added Green.

Towns’ move to the Knicks was one of the biggest moves in the offseason.

His ability to stretch the floor added to his improved defensive abilities made him a key player for the Knicks.

He has averaged 24 points and 12 rebounds in his first year with the team and in his absence the team has a 3-4 record, which indicates how important he is to how they play.

The Knicks have struggled to rack wins against the top teams, which is not a great sign for a team that wants to win a championship.

However, the team have struggled to have all their starters healthy together and currently are without their star player Jalen Brunson.

He is expected to back in time for the playoffs, which will help the offense out significantly.

With KAT playing the way he has been this season and Brunson returning, the Knicks could wreak havoc in the postseason.
