Kendrick Perkins believes there are at least two duos in the East that are better than Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard.
Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard have been on fire together. They have been the leaders of the Milwaukee Bucks during this recent resurgence.
The Bucks struggled to start the season, going 2-8 in their first 10 games. All hope seemed lost for their season, with many writing them off for the rest of the year.
But with their backs against the wall, the Bucks turned things around. And last night, Giannis and Lillard put the cherry on top of their comeback sundae, winning the NBA Cup together.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard turned things around for the Bucks magnificently. And their performances in the NBA Cup really showed their value as a duo.
Antetokounmpo has been brilliant during the in-season tournament, averaging 30.5 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 7.7 assists.
On the other side of the lineup, Damian Lillard has also put up strong numbers, averaging 27.3 points, 8.3 assists, and 4.0 rebounds.
Their performances were absolutely pivotal to their NBA Cup run. And Giannis spoke after their win, looking forward to more success they can earn as a duo.

However, despite their strong showings, one person doesn’t believe in their greatness as a duo. Kendrick Perkins believes there are two duos in the East better than Giannis and Lillard.
“I’m taking two [duos over Giannis and Lillard]. I’ll show respect to the Champions, Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum… Then I’m taking Karl-Anthony Towns and Jalen Brunson over Giannis and Dame.”
“Here is why I give them the edge over Giannis and Dame. When it comes down to Dame, I think he is going to rely heavily on his three-point shot…”
“You can take all three of these duos, but I’m giving those two duos – Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, Karl-Anthony Towns and Jalen Brunson – their respect.”
While Perkins has respect for Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, he thinks the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics pairings have an edge over them.
The Bucks would certainly beg to differ with Kendrick Perkins, pointing to their shiny NBA cup as evidence. But the season is far from over, and the duo with the NBA championship will have the last laugh.
