Kendrick Perkins names the top three point guards he ever played with, Celtics teammate number one

Kendrick Perkins selects the best point guard he played with during his 14-year NBA career.

Today, Kendrick Perkins is known for his brash takes on the NBA. But prior to becoming an analyst, Big Perk played in the league for 14 years.

During his career, Perkins donned the jerseys of four different NBA teams: Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder, Cleveland Cavaliers, and New Orleans Pelicans.

Evidently, Perk shared the court with some talented stars, including the likes of LeBron James, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett.

Being a big man, Perkins was rarely involved with bringing the ball up the court. However, he had the fortune of playing on the hardwood with some of the most talented floor generals of this generation.

Keeping that in mind, Perkins was recently asked to rank the three best point guards he played with. Perkins answered the question on the Road Trippin’ podcast via YouTube.

“This is totally me being unbiased. [Point guards] that I played with in this order too, if you don’t like it you kiss my ___, [Rajon] Rondo, Russ [Russell Westbrook], Kyrie [Irving]. In that order,” Perkins stated.

Perkins played with Rajon Rondo for nearly five seasons in Boston. In fact, he won the sole NBA Championship of his career with Rondo.

Keeping that in mind, it’s no surprise that the 40-year-old named the Celtics legend as his favorite point guard to play with on the court.

Perkins was never an outright star, but he did his job perfectly. Because Perkins was a center throughout his career, he was supposed to live in the paint.

While Big Perk did that for the majority of his career, he was in the prime of his career during his stint with the Celtics.

Many do not give him his flowers for his role in helping the Celtics win the 2008 NBA Championship, but former veteran Tony Allen highlighted Perkins’ importance.

Allen openly admitted that it was an injury to Perkins that ruined the Celtics’ chances of winning the 2010 NBA Championship vs. the Los Angeles Lakers.

After Perkins was sidelined, the Lakers easily put away the Celtics. It took the Cs nearly one-and-a-half decade to win another ring.
