Kevin Durant hits back at Phoenix Suns fans who want him off the team after Dirk Nowitzki comparison, ‘I’ve learned…’

Kevin Durant is not shy of airing his views on social media and his spell at the Phoenix Suns may be coming to an end.

A nightmare season for the Phoenix Suns has meant the team will miss out on the playoffs, and they ended the year in horrific form.

An injury to Kevin Durant killed off their chances of sneaking into the Play-In tournament, and the former Finals MVP is being discussed in trade speculation already.

The Suns have little to no assets to make trades without sacrificing one of their stars, and Kevin Durant is viewed to be most likely, considering the team explored trading him before the deadline.

Durant did not to leave the team mid-season. In this upcoming off-season it could be a different outcome.

Kevin Durant is infamously not shy on social media and had an interesting back and forth with Suns fans on X.

The full exchange can be seen below, beginning when Durant was tagged in a post urging him to be more like NBA legend Dirk Nowitzki.

“When you talk about iso efficiency this is what we mean @KDTrey5,” the post read.

Durant responded: “Why u tag me and not dirk??”.

“Cause you iso heavy. Dirk not playing, five you are. Pick your spots,” the response read.

Durant was not in agreement, writing: “Yall gotta stop wit this iso heavy narrative, I get 4 ISOs a game man.”

Another user chimed in on X, adding: “Been saying this btw. Kd fits in every offense and dont need the ball. Idk where this iso heavy narrative came from.”

Durant responded simply: “Outta thin air.”

The former Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors and Brooklyn Nets star was not finished.

He responded to another fan who added a voice to the iso debate, “Cause you dribble 20 times? Creating more opportunities for double teams and or turning the ball over. Which you do a lot.”

Durant was not impressed, claiming it is a made-up narrative from fans who want him to leave Phoenix.

He wrote: “3 turnovers in 36 minutes a game. 20 dribbles is over exaggerating but I’ve learned suns fans do that when they wanna prove a point bout how much they want me off the team.”

Kevin Durant has made clear he enjoys debating with fans online, good or bad, and at present with the Phoenix Suns the frustration is overwhelming.

Another fan wrote: “How do y’all miss the the playoffs. The shame Mr. Phoenix feels for his city.”

Durant responded simply: “Time will heal all brother.”

A further comment reflected on the situation, referring to the lack of options Phoenix have at present: “Man, we don’t want you off the team Slim, but what other options we got? We can’t just run it back, and you’ll get us the best return. Respectfully.”

Durant replied to imply that he understood: “Respectfully,” with a handshake emoji.

There is no doubt Durant’s future will be a big topic of conversation in the upcoming weeks.

Kendrick Perkins believes a move should be Nico Harrison’s go-to to try and rescue his failing Dallas Mavericks project.
