LA Lakers fans in agreement after Draymond Green’s ‘hunger’ comments about Luka Doncic

Luka Doncic’s recent body transformation has attracted comments from around the NBA community.

After all, for the majority of the 2024-25 NBA season, Luka Doncic was ridiculed for not being in the peak shape of his career.

Well, Doncic made some sacrifices, but he has finally reached a stage where the rest of the league should be worried about poking the bear next season.

Speaking of Doncic’s transformation, Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green recently shared his two cents on the same.

Statistically, Doncic had the worst season of his NBA career during his rookie year, averaging 21.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game for the Dallas Mavericks.

However, most fans remember Doncic’s rookie year for his lean physique as the now-LA Lakers star has gained weight over the years.

Now, in light of Doncic’s terrific transformation, Green believes that the 26-year-old star is back to his rookie-year shape.

“Luka is looking like rookie Luka all over again. The Trade has created that hunger again it seems! Also, the perfect year to go win his first MVP award,” Green said on Instagram (h/t Legion Hoops).

Despite being on Doncic’s rival team, Green didn’t shy away from dropping massive praise on the Lakers star while also propping him to win the 2026 NBA MVP award.

As one would expect, Green’s statement about Doncic went viral on social media. So much so that the Lakers fanbase thought there was a subtle meaning behind the 4x NBA champion praising Doncic.

“Dray a Laker?” one fan asked. While another added: “Luka’s hunger is real, Draymond knows what’s up!”

“Draymond joining LeBron and Luka,” a third fan announced.

“That’s why Dray’s the GOAT, come to LA,” a fourth fan stated.

“Draymond secretly wants to be a Laker,” another fan pointed out.

Green has always had an opinion or two about the Lakers in recent years. He even spoke about the start of a new era after Mark Walter’s takeover.

But so far, Green hasn’t dropped any hints about leaving the Warriors for a chance to play alongside Doncic on the Purple and Gold.
