Latest Tottenham injury news, expected return dates, suspensions

With the Premier League slowly getting towards the business end, Tottenham Hotspur are in a promising position in terms of potentially securing Champions League football.

Ange Postecoglou will be eager to push on from here on in just like the way his side started the campaign, and as we enter a crucial period, with all players now back from international duty.

Football FanCast keeps you updated with all the latest Spurs news on the injury front ahead of their clash with Aston Villa.

Latest Spurs injury news

Postecoglou gave his most recent squad update on Friday afternoon, with some good news for Spurs fans.

Manor Solomon, Ryan Sessegnon and Fraser Forster are nursing more longer term injuries and will miss this weekend’s game.

The bad news is that Richarlison is set to be out for around three weeks.

Pedro Porro is set to return this weekend, providing Ange with a huge boost as he now has both his first-choice full-backs.

Here’s what Ange had to say about this weekend’s clash:

“Everyone from last week is fit and available. Coming back. Pedro’s good, he’s trained all week so no problem. Everyone else, including Richy, is still not training with the main group so unavailable.”

Richarlison – knee

Richarlison picked up a knee injury in Spurs’ game against Wolverhampton Wanderers, so he’s set to be sidelined for two to three weeks as he recovers.

Big Ange had this to say on the matter in his press conference last week:

“Sort of going through from the last game, Richy picked up a bit of a knee injury so he’s going to be missing sort of two to three weeks,”

Manor Solomon – knee

Tottenham Hotspur provided an update on Manor Solomon’s injury in October, which read: “It was announced on Thursday (5 October) that our number 27 had suffered a meniscus injury to his right knee in training this week. The forward underwent surgery the same day and has now started his rehabilitation as he looks to get back to full fitness.”

It’s important to note that it’s not the same knee Solomon injured with Fulham last season.

And, whilst it was thought that the winger had almost recovered, it’s now been stated that he had to undergo a ‘further procedure’ which has set his rehabilitation back.

Ryan Sessegnon – hamstring

Ryan Sessegnon’s injury troubles continue as he’s now set for surgery on a hamstring injury he picked up during an under-21s match.

Ange had a little update on the full-back’s situation:

“Obviously Sess [Ryan Sessegnon] had his hamstring and had to have surgery on that so that was kind of last game.”

The shock news to come out of the press conference last week was that Fraser Forster is set for an extended spell on the sidelines after fracturing his foot.

It looks like it’s going to be at least two months before he possibly returns to the bench, as Ange provided this update:

“Probably the major one for us is Fraser Forster. Fracture in his foot and he will probably miss a couple of months.”
