LeBron James had the perfect comeback to Scottie Pippen’s swipe without saying a word, Bulls legend won’t be happy

LeBron James passed Scottie Pippen on a major all-time record, days after the Chicago Bulls legend’s controversial statement.

Scottie Pippen is widely known for being the second-star behind Michael Jordan during the Chicago Bulls dynasty’s six NBA Championship runs in the 1990s.

As a result, Pippen quickly gained popularity for his incredible two-way game on the court.

While there is no doubt that Scottie is an NBA legend, most do not feel the same about his takes on other NBA stars.

For years, Pippen stood firm on MJ’s status as the GOAT. However, things changed when Pippen got mad following his depiction in ESPN’s The Last Dance docuseries on Netflix.

Since then, the 6x NBA champ has taken multiple shots at his former teammate. In fact, he even declared LeBron James the GOAT over Jordan amid all the chaos.

But what if Pippen was asked to pick between himself and James as the better player? Well, the former Bulls star shocked many with his answer.

“You want individual accolades or you want championships? Because I didn’t chase mine. I’m speaking from a team standpoint, I look at basketball from a team standpoint. My success as a team is more successful than LeBron. I got six rings,” Pippen said on the PBD Podcast.

It was a brutal swipe at the King’s legacy. While Pippen does have more rings than James, it’s fair to assume his championship tally would be lower if he didn’t play with Jordan on the Bulls.

As expected, James didn’t react to Scottie’s dig at his NBA career. But it’s funny that James passed Pippen for a major record in the Los Angeles Lakers‘ recent 111-88 win over the Washington Wizards.

Following his two steals against the Wizards, James is now seventh on the all-time NBA steals leaders. Pippen previously held that spot with 2,307 swipes to his name.

However, the King has now moved into that spot with 2,309 career steals. In a way, the timing of James’ new record is simply too good, considering Pippen’s recent comments.

Either way, James will likely reach the sixth spot on the list, as he is only one steal behind Maurice Cheeks’ career steals tally of 2,310.
