Having beaten Southampton on Sunday, perhaps with more difficulty than expected, Liverpool have taken advantage of second-place Manchester City losing at home to Tottenham Hotspur the previous day and their lead at the top of the Premier League table is now eight points.
However, Liverpool coach Arne Slot is obviously aware that nothing is decided at this point in the season, with the remaining competitors boasting plenty of quality in their ranks.
