Luis Diaz to stay at Liverpool amid reports of PSG interest

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly identified Luis Diaz of Liverpool as a potential replacement for Real Madrid-bound Kylian Mbappe, but according to Fabrizio Romano, no contact has been made between the two clubs on the matter. Furthermore, Liverpool have no intention of selling the Colombia international to anyone, seeing him as a crucial piece of their plans for the future beyond the Jurgen Klopp era, and he is not considered a primary target for PSG anyway.

Liverpool signed Diaz from FC Porto in January 2022 for around €47 million, and he has been Klopp’s preferred option on the left wing with 22 Premier League starts and minutes played in all but one of the 28 league games so far this term, the one he missed being the one when his father was kidnapped at the end of October.

In 39 appearances across all competitions in 2023/24, the 27-year-old has five goals and 11 assists to his name, and his contract with the Merseysiders has three years left to run.

Previous reports suggested Barcelona had enquired about the possibility of signing Diaz, but the answer they got was a clear “no”.
