Malik Beasley hits back at Giannis Antetokounmpo’s celebration, explains why he was so angry

Detroit Pistons player Malik Beasley has responded to Giannis Antetokounmpo’s celebration after the Greek Freak blocked a shot from him in the Milwaukee Bucks’ 125-119 win.

The Greek Freak blocked Malik Beasley‘s three-point effort with ten seconds to play in the fourth quarter and pulled out his shimmy celebration.

However, this was not taken well by Beasley as he pushed Giannis Antetokounmpo and expressed his displeasure.

After the game, Antetokounmpo went to shake hands with Beasley, but the former Milwaukee Bucks player refused it and exchanged some words with his former teammate.

Beasley had a good game as he scored 21 points and shot 7-14 from three-point range against the Bucks.

If his three-point effort went in, the Pistons could have made things interesting, but Antetokounmpo showed why he is one of the best defensive players in the league.

Beasley went on X and shared why he was left angry with Antetokounmpo’s shimmy celebration.

He tweeted: “Let someone stand over you, hit your ish , then try to help me up .. in what world would you let that slide in? Idc how goofy he is lol.”

Beasley also used this as a chance to promote Savvy Sliders, which gives fans a chance to have Shimmy meal if they emulate him and do the celebration.

“While everyone’s at it, even Greeks shimmy!! Go get you a shimmy meal,” tweeted Beasley.

Antetokounmpo is having another incredible year with the Bucks, but has not been in the headlines and this is due to the brilliance of Nikola Jokic and Shai-Gilgeous Alexander, the MVP frontrunners.

He is averaging 30.4 PPG, 11.9 RPG and 6.5 APG on a highly efficient 60% shooting from the field.

Recently, Antetokounmpo has also had to level up his on-ball work as he has carried the load due to the injury to Damian Lillard.

This has come as no problem to him and Antetokounmpo has done better than many would have imagined averaging 31-11-10 splits in his last ten games, while leading the Bucks to a seven game winning streak.

His dominant form could not have come at a better time as the team will be heading into the playoffs and their matchup will be the Indiana Pacers, the same team that beat them in the first-round last year.

The different was Antetokounmpo was not available for the Bucks last time around, but this campaign, not only has he been fit, but the two-time MVP has delivered brilliantly.

The team are expecting Lillard to return at some point and if that happens, there are expectations the Bucks could make a deep run.
