Manchester United want Emiliano Martínez to replace Andre Onana

Manchester United are ready to move on from Andre Onana, according to Fichajes. The report has claimed that the Red Devils have already identified Aston Villa and Argentina international goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez as Onana’s replacement.

Villa themselves are open to selling Martinez and are looking for £40 million for the former Arsenal goalkeeper. It would be a bargain transfer fee for Man United to sign a player who won the 2022 World Cup and the 2021 and 2024 with Argentina and was named as The Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper in 2022 and 2024.

Onana has been on the books of Man United since the summer of 2023 when he joined from Inter Milan. The goalkeeper has made some high-profile mistakes, but the Cameroon international himself is said to want to stay at Old Trafford. Man United finished 15th in the Premier League table last season and also lost the final of the Europa League to Tottenham Hotspur.
