Mikal Bridges speaks out boos after his 0 point performance New York Knicks loss to OKC

A disappointing night for the New York Knicks was also a confusing one – especially for anybody who watched the team on Christmas Day.

The New York Knicks‘ big win on December 25 against the San Antonio Spurs came amid a huge performance from opponent Victor Wembanyama.

The Knicks had something special in store to counter, with Mikal Bridges putting up his best ever numbers for the team, a 41 point performance.

Bridges big night showed what he was truly capable of after a tough start since being traded from Brooklyn – but what he does lack is consistency.

Mikal Bridges looked like a totally different player against the Oklahoma City Thunder on January 10, failing to score a single point in 32 minutes on court.

The Knicks were beaten 126-101 at Madison Square Garden, their biggest loss of the 2024-25 season to date.

Bridges contributed very little else, managing only one rebound and two assists, with no blocks and no steals.

He went 0-9 in field goal attempts and 0-7 in attempted threes. This was quite simply not his night.

Bridges was not the only Knicks star to have a poor game. OG Anunoby managed only four points. Both have scored over 40 this season in individual games.

New York Knicks fans expressed their frustrations towards the team with some sections of the crowd booing.

Bridges spoke to SNY following the loss, and admitted he could not blame the fan frustrations.

He said: “I get it, the missing shots that’s something you really can’t control, just keep making them, keep get them up, but defensively a lot of miscues.

“A lack of communication which is very boo-worthy. I’m not tripping, we just got to be better.”

Bridges can be commended for fronting up after his performance, but some fans won’t buy his claims that he ‘can’t control’ missing shots.

He needs to be better and so do the Knicks, who have now lost four of their last five games, with the only win coming against the 8-30 Raptors.
