Minnesota Timberwolves rookie has earned head coach Chris Finch’s unwavering support, ‘I trust him…’

Chris Finch has made it clear that one rookie guard will continue to feature in his rotation.

Over the last few weeks, the Minnesota Timberwolves have rediscovered their form in the 2024-25 NBA season.

Sure, the stars of the team are carrying the majority of the load on both ends of the floor, but fans may overlook a key factor in the team’s recent resurgence.

Previously, the T-Wolves lacked consistent support from their supporting players. However, the flaw has been identified and resolved, which shows the instant impact on the organization’s standing in the conference.

Speaking of the bench taking things up a notch, rookie shooting guard Jaylen Clark has slowly established himself a key player in head coach Chris Finch’s system.

Finch spoke highly of the 23-year-old following the Timberwolves’ recent blowout win over the Utah Jazz.

“I trust him implicitly. I trust him offensively as much as I trust him defensively.

“That’s just as important right now. He goes out there, and fit in. He makes a lot of smart plays,” Finch said of Clark.

In simple terms, Finch is impressed with Clark’s ability to do all the little things on both ends of the floor rather than simply seeking to stuff the box score.

With their recent 128-102 win over the Jazz, the Timberwolves are now on an eight-game winning streak this season.

Despite their red-hot form, the T-Wolves remain the seventh seed in the West. It shows the level of cutthroat competition in the conference.

But as Finch and Timberwolves veterans previously mentioned, the team has found its rhythm. This will likely help them in closing out the season on a strong note and possibly a top-six seed as well.
