The announcers were discussing how good a free-throw shooter Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was. In response, Burke referenced Shai’s reputation as a ‘free-throw merchant.’

The title ‘free-throw merchant’ is actually used in a negative connotation towards SGA, referencing his heavy free-throw numbers that seemingly inflate his scoring numbers.
