NBA fans couldn’t believe how Jalen Brunson stepped up in the final moments of Game 6 to help the Knicks wrap up their series against the Pistons.
The New York Knicks have vanquished the Detroit Pistons in six games. With a massive game on the road, Jalen Brunson stepped up to deliver a strong performance.
Brunson had a brilliant game, scoring 40 points, including the game-winning three. He showed why he is the star player of the New York Knicks.
His heroics tonight also proved that Tom Thibodeau was wrong to leave Brunson and Hart late in Game 6. Luckily for Coach Thibs, this mistake won’t come back to bite him just yet.
Now the Knicks will face the Celtics in the second round of the playoffs. And while that series will be a challenge, Knicks fans can at least celebrate their win tonight.

Many NBA fans took to X to share their praise for Jalen Brunson. Former NBA star Jay Williams wrote, “Clutch isn’t a stat. It’s a mindset. And Jalen Brunson has it in his DNA…”
He continued, “Just hit the dagger to send Detroit home. Keep doubting him—he keeps closing. That’s not luck. That’s legacy in the making.”
An excited Knicks fan said, “Hell of a series by the Pistons. Thank god, Jalen Brunson is that dude. LET’S GO KNICKS.”
A critic of Brunson admitted defeat, writing, “Jalen Brunson plays unethical basketball, but make no mistake. He’s absolutely an assassin.”
While another neutral supporter couldn’t believe his clutchness, saying, “Jalen Brunson ice in his veins. That was nasty.”
One Knicks fan was critical of the coaching, posting, “Jalen Brunson should get Thibs’ salary.” While another fan wrote, “Jalen Brunson is the greatest I’ve ever seen.”

Jalen Brunson has been the star throughout this series. His incredible 15-point fourth quarter in Game 4 provided the Knicks some breathing room as they went up 3-1.
There were concerns that Tom Thibodeau’s decision to play his starters big minutes in the playoffs would cost them. But that hasn’t been the case, and Brunson even defended his coach from that tired narrative.
As euphoric as this game and series win will be for the Knicks, they must remember the challenge they face in the next round.
The Boston Celtics are the reigning NBA champions and the favorites to win it all again. What makes this even tougher for the Knicks is their woes with the Celtics this season.
In four games this year, the Knicks are 0-4 against the Celtics. This doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence in how the Knicks will perform in the series. But the playoffs are a completely different story.
