Nickeil Alexander-Walker addressed what circumstances he would speak to cousin Shai Gilgeous-Alexander about the Timberwolves-Thunder series.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander willed the Oklahoma City Thunder to a Game 4 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. OKC now has a 3-1 lead and is a win away from the NBA Finals.
He scored 40 points in the win, including getting to the line several times. Shai addressed the free-throw merchant label right after the game.
Many of his trips to the free-throw line came when he was being guarded by his cousin, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, who plays for the Timberwolves.
NAW spoke after Game 4 about playing against his cousin and when he would feel comfortable discussing it with Shai in the future.

A reporter asked Alexander-Walker whether he’d have a discussion with SGA after the series about playing against each other. NAW claimed he would only do it if the Timberwolves won the series.
Reporter: “Do you look forward to the discussion you’ll have, maybe when the series is over, about what it was like to go up against each other?”
Alexander-Walker: “Only if I win, to be honest.”

During this Western Conference Finals series, Nickeil Alexander-Walker has been the main player guarding Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
It hasn’t gone well for him, as Shai has had his way, averaging 30.8 points, 8.3 assists, and 4.8 rebounds. In fact, Shai has scored over 30 points in three of the four games in the series so far.
It must be a thrill for the two cousins who grew up around each other to be playing at one of the highest stages in the NBA.
But so far, Shai is just dominating the match-up. Nickeil Alexander-Walker’s professional pride is sure to be hurt after losing so often to his cousin.
