Nikola Jokic reveals Nuggets’ key to victory was doing something they hadn’t done vs Thunder so far, ‘that’s helpful…’

Nikola Jokic said the Nuggets’ crucial Game 6 win came down to them doing something they hadn’t done earlier in the series.

The Denver Nuggets have a chance to reach the Western Conference Finals, as they survived Game 6 to force the Oklahoma City Thunder to a Game 7.

It wasn’t a perfect night, as Aaron Gordon may have suffered an injury at the end of Game 6. But the Nuggets have earned the right to live to fight another day.

This series has been nothing short of a rollercoaster, with several twists and turns as both teams look evenly matched.

But Nikola Jokic saw a sign of improvement, as in Game 6, the Nuggets avoided, in his words, a mistake they kept making previously in this series.

Speaking after Game 6 between the Nuggets and Thunder, Nikola Jokic addressed his team’s performance on the night.

Unlike previous games in the series, Jokic was glad that the Nuggets limited their offensive fouls and didn’t make silly mistakes.

“I think this is the first time we didn’t have offensive fouls in the series. That’s helpful.”

The Denver Nuggets have struggled with the defense that the Oklahoma City Thunder have put up against them.

The Thunder have been the best defensive team in the NBA during the regular season, but the Nuggets might have finally figured them out.

It’s in the Nuggets’ best interest to continue being offensively careful heading into Game 7 against the Thunder.

The Thunder have one of the savviest coaches in the NBA. Mark Daigneault will be aware of how the Nuggets figured out their defensive schematics.

But Nikola Jokic is one of the most innovative offensive players in NBA history. So he will also be aware of how the Thunder will try to pivot.

It’s going to be a phenomenal clash of elite basketball sides during Game 7. Both sides will be battling each other, not just on the court, but tactically.
