ONE Championship Friday Fights event cancelled after 7.7 magnitude earthquake hits Myanmar

ONE Championship was forced to cancelled Friday’s card in Bangkok, Thailand, following a 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar, the promotion announced Friday.

The earthquake was the most powerful to hit the area since 1991. At least three people were killed and 81 were trapped in the rubble of a building that was under construction and collapsed in Bangkok, according to a report from Reuters.

ONE Friday Fights 102 was set to feature 12 bouts at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, including a Muay Thai main event between Rambong Sor Terapat and Pompetch. Two MMA bouts were booked for the show, Jean Claude Saclag vs. Shazada Ataev and Marwin Quirante vs. Torepchi Dongak. The promotion is yet to announce if the matchups will be re-booked for future cards.

ONE has another event scheduled for next Friday in Bangkok, featuring a pair of Muay Thai title bouts. It is unclear if that card will proceed as planned.
