Patrick Beverley claims he was called ‘crazy’ for LA Clippers star’s take, now he’s been proven right

Patrick Beverley revisits his take on the Los Angeles Clippers, demands respect for being called ‘crazy.’

After an eventful regular season, the Los Angeles Clippers are currently preparing to face off against the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs.

Despite being the lower seed, many see the Clippers as a legitimate threat to the 2023 NBA champions, especially considering their form ahead of the playoffs.

The Clippers finished the regular season on a sensational eight-game winning streak, propelled by the dynamic duo of James Harden and Kawhi Leonard.

Ex-NBA guard Patrick Beverley recently previewed the Clippers vs Nuggets matchup on The Pat Bev Podcast with Rone, where he had nothing but praise for the fifth seed.

So much so that Beverley believes the Clippers have one of the best constructed rosters heading into the postseason.

“I like the Clippers, I don’t think they have holes, I don’t think they have areas where they are not good at. Ty Lue is elite in the playoffs, Kawhi [Leonard] is elite in the playoffs, James Harden is elite in the playoffs,” Beverley said.

The duo of Leonard and Harden, coached by Tyronn Lue, is a phenomenal combination for a title contender. But that isn’t the Clippers’ true strength, as Beverley believes the real difference-maker for them is Ivica Zubac.

Zubac is currently playing the seventh season of his career with the LA Clippers. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander claimed, he has gotten better with each season in LA.

In fact, Los Angeles Lakers legend James Worthy wishes Zubac was still with the Purple and Gold. Keeping that in mind, Beverley revisited an old take about the Croatian star that earned him the ‘crazy’ label.

“Big Zubac, he been playing very well, my opinion Most Improved Player. To me, he’s top three in the league, its funny when I said it earlier in the season some people said it was a joke, some people called me crazy… they called me almost insane.

“Now we fast forward to the end of the season, Zubac is a top three center in the NBA. It’s the truth.”

At 28 years old, Zubac has entered the prime of his career and put up some unbelievable numbers for the Clippers.

With that said, he could be the perfect player to guard Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic in the opening round and help the Clippers cause the first major upset of the postseason.
