The LA Clippers have hit a mean run of form and have won their last three games to improve their record in the Western Conference to 23-17.
They recently handed the Brooklyn Nets their largest-ever defeat in a 126-67 victory and backed that up with another impressive outing against the Trail Blazers.
Kawhi Leonard recently made his Clippers return having missed the entire start of the season through injury, however, they have barely missed him.
The performances of James Harden and Norman Powell have been impressive and Paul Pierce was full of praise for the Clippers duo.
Harden and Powell combined for an impressive 42 points against the Trail Blazers, who were no match for a Clippers side full of confidence.
The 35-year-old Harden rolled back the years leaving his teammates shocked with an impressive dunk.
Whilst Harden has been tearing up the league for some time now his teammate Powell has been a much later bloomer.
However, his form is so good that he is being touted as a potential All-Star, something that Pierce also backs.
Speaking on KG Certified Pierce said: “James Harden is crackin’. I didn’t expect the Clippers to be in this position with Kawhi out so long, trade Paul George, and you still got the Clippers in the mix. Powell is crackin’.
“I don’t know if it’s Harden or Powell, but one of them two should be an All-Star.”
LA Clippers coach Ty Lue will certainly be impressed with the output of his two season stars so far this season.
Harden, a 10-time NBA All-Star looks to be back to his best following a brief lull in scoring during his time with the Nets and 76ers.
Powell who is looking to become a first-time All-Star has been a surprise star in the Clippers side and his numbers have been a massive bonus to the side.
James Harden | Norman Powell | |
Points | 21.4 | 23.7 |
Rebounds | 5.8 | 3.5 |
Assists | 8.0 | 2.3 |
It’s quite impressive to see Powell outscoring Harden, he has some work to do to compare with his teammates’ rebound and assist numbers.
The Clippers will be hoping the pair can continue their strong form with the return of Leonard.
They could become a serious team to watch later in the season.
