Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant has surprising record vs NBA opponent

Despite boasting some of the best talent in the NBA the problems are continuing to build for the Phoenix Suns side.

Their latest 115-104 defeat to the Charlotte Hornets has seen the side five of their last six games, they now sit with a 16-19 record.

Devin Booker recently shared the impact dropping stars Bradley Beal and Jusuf Nurkic have had on the Suns team.

Booker himself scored 39 points as well as adding six rebounds and 10 assists in the defeat, he has been critical of his own displays in recent times.

Another superstar Kevin Durant also added 26 points but the two-time NBA Champion has not enjoyed a fruitful time against the Hornets.

While Durant is considered one of the most impactful players in the NBA today the Hornets appear to be his kryptonite.

Despite boasting a comfortable 24-9 record against the Hornets it hasn’t been such an enjoyable personal experience for Durant.

KD is averaging 24.5 points against the Hornets, the lowest points average against any team in his NBA career.

Last five performances against the Hornets:

Durant was recently called out for his attitude by Stephen A. Smith but the star certainly seems to have taken the comments on board.

The 36-year-old is trying to lead by example in a Suns team that is now playing without Beal in the starting line-up following his potential trade exit, putting even more pressure on Durant and Booker to score the points.

The Suns are in crisis right now and it’s going to need all of the star quality of Durant to turn their season around.

The 2014 NBA MVP currently averages 27.4 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists this season yet his team are struggling to secure wins.

It appears that Jimmy Butler may be joining Durant soon and it will take all of their strength, alongside Booker to rescue what has been an awful start to the season.

A potential partnership with Butler, who is known as a team player, may allow Durant to have more impact on the scoring front with Butler likely to hand him the ball more than the likes of Beal.

Whatever it takes for the Suns to get back to winning ways may need to be explored as time is running out for them to show for a real playoff chance.
