According to multiple reports, Barcelona are on the verge of reaching a total agreement with Manchester United over a proposed transfer of Marcus Rashford. Once completed, the move will be an initial loan deal with an option to buy. The final details are being ironed out, and when that’s done, United will allow the forward to travel to Spain to undergo a medical.
Barcelona initially wanted Liverpool’s Luiz Diaz to join their ranks, but having failed to even get the Premier League champions to enter negotiations for the Colombia international, they switched their full attention to Rashford, with head coach Hansi Flick happy to take him.
The 27-year-old is a product of the academy at United, but his future has been a subject of speculation for a long time now. He never appeared to be a part of the long-term plans under Ruben Amorim, and he spent the second half of 2024/25 on loan at Aston Villa.
