Rob Holding set for MLS move

According to Sky Sports, Rob Holding is set to leave Crystal Palace and join Colorado Rapids.

The two clubs have reached an agreement over the transfer of the 29-year-old defender, who doesn’t appear to have a place in the plans of Palace head coach Oliver Glasner, even though his contract still has a year left to run.

In fact, Holding’s spell at Selhurst Park has been nothing short of disaster: he has made only one senior appearance for the Eagles since joining from Arsenal over two and a half years ago, having undergone surgery on an ankle in February 2024 which kept him out of action for a very long time.

Holding is also of interest to Championship sides Sheffield United (where he spent the second half of 2024/25 on loan) and Wrexam (just promoted to the second tier of English football), but it seems he prefers to move across the Atlantic and play in the MLS. He is expected to sign an 18-month contract with the Rapids.
