Russell Westbrook puts up historic numbers against Jazz, does what only one other player has ever achieved

Russell Westbrook is known for his outrageous stat lines, and he just delivered one that only one other player in history can match.

Russell Westbrook has revived his career with the Denver Nuggets. After unsuccessful stints with the Lakers and Clippers, Westbrook has come alive again.

Russ joined the Nuggets after being bought out by the Utah Jazz. This is the second time in his career that the Jazz have bought his contract out, allowing him to sign with another team.

And rather than repay their gratitude, Westbrook put on an incredible performance against them. Last night, Russ put up a triple-double with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.

While Russell Westbrook putting up triple-doubles is a return to form, this one is special. Westbrook made history with his triple-double against the Jazz last night.

He became just the second player in NBA history to put up a triple-double with no turnovers and shooting 100% from the field and the free-throw line.

Westbrook shot 7-7 from the field, and 2-2 from the free-throw line, and didn’t turn the ball at all. It was a very efficient performance.

The only other player to put up this stat line is Domantas Sabonis, who did so in early November. To underscore how tough this accomplishment is, no other player before them has ever done this before.

Funnily enough, this isn’t the first time Westbrook has made history since joining the Nuggets. He recently surpassed Jason Kidd for the most rebounds from a point guard in NBA history.

Westbrook is enjoying a brilliant career renaissance in Denver. Shaking off a bad reputation from his time in Los Angeles, Russ has been a solid player for the Nuggets.

This season, Westbrook has averaged 12.1 points, 6.5 assists, and 4.5 rebounds. The former MVP has also shown no ego, willingly coming off the bench when the team needs him to.

The Nuggets will be thrilled with how Westbrook has adapted to their team. Despite the initial doubts surrounding his fit, he has been nothing short of a pro.
