Slot after £100m+ ace; Saudis want Reds duo

Football FanCast brings you the latest Liverpool transfer round-up.

While the Reds’ most recent Premier League campaign didn’t exactly go to plan, they did manage to secure a return to the Champions League and hand outgoing boss Jurgen Klopp a terrific send-off.

So with Arne Slot now in the Anfield hot seat, all eyes are on the transfer activity on Merseyside as the Dutchman starts to mould his Liverpool side.

Here we’ve listed the very latest transfer rumours involving the Reds as they seek instant success under the former Feyenoord boss in 2024/25.

Latest Liverpool transfer rumours

Transfers in

Leny Yoro: Reports have claimed that Liverpool are hoping to beat the likes of European champions Real Madrid to the services of Leny Yoro, who gained plenty of admirers while playing for Lille last season.

Los Blancos appear to be the favourites at the moment, though plenty of clubs are in the mix, including Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester United.

Joao Neves: Liverpool are one of the clubs mentioned in the race to sign Benfica starlet Joao Neves. Portuguese reports are claiming that the Premier League is the teenager’s preferred destination. However, he has a nine-figure release clause, and with Benfica reluctant to sell, this could be a longshot.

Alan Varela: Spanish sources have suggested that Liverpool are looking to press ahead in their pursuit of Porto’s Alan Varela. The Reds are poised to open negotiations for the player, who is thought to have a release clause of around £60m.

Transfers out

Sepp van den Berg: According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Reds defender Sepp van den Berg is hoping to secure a permanent move from Liverpool this summer – but is waiting on approval from his current employers. The Dutchman spent the previous season on loan at Mainz, who survived a fierce relegation battle in the German Bundesliga last term.

He reportedly has offers from Germany – his preferred destination – though Premier League clubs have also shown an interest.

Joe Gomez: Defender Joe Gomez is thought to be gaining interest from clubs in the Saudi Pro League. According to the Mail, he could be open to a move, with Saudi clubs said to be sensing an opportunity amid Arne Slot’s arrival and desire to shake things up.

Luis Diaz: Also on the radar of Saudi clubs is Luis Diaz, with the Colombian another believed to be open to leaving Anfield. The Mail also claims he’s a potential target for PSG following the departure of Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid.
