Stephen A. Smith issued a rare retraction about his thoughts on the Golden State Warriors, changing his mind after seeing Jimmy Butler play.
The Golden State Warriors have been flying high since trading for Jimmy Butler. Last night, the Warriors defeated the Dallas Mavericks in another dominant showing.
It was yet another strong performance from Butler, who is now 5-1 with the Warriors. He will feel happy about avenging the only loss of his Warriors career last night.
The new lineup experiment with Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green has worked, and Steve Kerr was justified in his decision.
Draymond Green has backed Butler, explaining why the rest of the league gets so tired of him as an opponent.
However, a former skeptic of the Warriors has come around to them, admitting he was wrong about them trading for Jimmy Butler.

Speaking on NBA Today, Stephen A. Smith issued a retraction about his take on the Golden State Warriors. Smith had initially praised Draymond Green for his championship comments but questioned their ability to get there.
While Smith still thinks the Warriors aren’t the strongest team, Jimmy Butler’s ability to give Stephen Curry a break has impressed him. And as such, he believes the duo make the Warriors a dangerous team.
“I think I was wrong… I looked at Jimmy Butler. We know what a big-time player he is, particularly in the post-season. But do he and Steph mesh? I don’t see that. I still see them as undersized.”
“When I think about Steph Curry, outside of his marksmanship, the one thing I marvel at is his conditioning. He is running around all the damn time. When you have a guy that can get to the free-throw line as frequently as Jimmy Butler…”
“What happens then is; you’re giving him [Curry] a break without him having to get off the court to sit on the bench.”
“That, to me, makes Golden State very, very potent. When I look at the West, I don’t have them winning it, but I can’t summarily dismiss what I’m seeing and how impressing it has been.”
Stephen A. Smith did instantly dismiss them at the trade deadline, brutally dismissing the team as “no more dangerous than they were yesterday.”
Smith makes some great points about the danger that Butler brings to the team. His ability to give Stephen Curry a reprieve doesn’t just make him a threat, but improves Curry’s game as well.
