Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr highlights one major quality ability of Draymond Green.
The Golden State Warriors have really turned things around post the NBA Trade Deadline this season after adding Jimmy Butler to the roster.
So much so that the Dubs created a chance of finishing inside the top six in the Western Conference standings. Amid their phenomenal run, the Warriors faced the Houston Rockets in their recent game.
Despite the Warriors being in great form, the Rockets took care of business as they registered a solid 106-96 win.
One major talking point about the Warriors’ 10-point loss vs the Rockets was the performance of their veteran forward Draymond Green.
While Green is an NBA Defensive Player of the Year award favorite this season, there is one huge complaint that fans have about his game.
It’s none other than Green’s aggression as racked up five fouls. When asked about this supposed issue about Green, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr quickly jumped to the 35-year-old’s defense.
“I love Draymond’s fire. The reason we got four banners up there.
“We wouldn’t have any without Draymond. I love his fire. He was fighting out there, just didn’t go our way,” Kerr said.
Rather than criticizing the veteran forward for his aggression, coach Kerr loves it and believes the Warriors dynasty wouldn’t have been successful without Green being the defensive anchor of the team.
Aside from committing five personal fouls, Green was also slammed with a technical foul during the third quarter.
As expected, Green got into it with the officials and even elbowed Rockets’ Alperen Sengun to prove his point. After the incident, Green’s foul was upgraded to a flagrant 1 foul.
Following this, Green has now committed three flagrant fouls this season and 18 over the course of his career.
Additionally, Green has 13 technical fouls to his name this season and 163 throughout his time with the Warriors in the league.
