‘Strange move’… LeBron James called out over LA Clippers workout picture

LeBron James is gearing up for another season, and is never out of the headlines.

Ever since he entered the NBA back in 2003, LeBron James has dominated discussion. Entering 2025, little has changed.

Over the past few days he has started sharing workout pictures as he gears up for the new season.

Kendrick Perkins claimed that the timing was influenced by teammate Luka Doncic’s new shredded workout pictures, with LeBron James keen to remind the world what he is capable of.

One way or another, we are set to see LeBron James for a 23rd year in the NBA, at the age of 40.

LeBron James knows more than any NBA player how every emoji, every picture, every word gets analyzed for hidden meanings. Even when there might not be any.

It’s quite possible he is simply past caring at this point. That would be the most logical explanation for his latest Instagram post.

James shared a picture working out, with a LA Clippers logo in the background, instead of the LA Lakers, his current team.

He was working out at the Clippers old practice facility, now owned by Klutch Sports. Could he have been a bit more savvy with his picture choices, however, to avoid it becoming a talking point?

Yahoo’s NBA analyst Kevin O’Connor reacted with bemusement, posting on X: “Strange move.”

LeBron James attached a message alongside his picture, which suggests he is happy to let people talk about him, so long as they do not ever question his dedication.

He wrote: “Say whatever you want but you damn sure won’t be able to say I didn’t put in the WORK!! 👑 . We’ll see what happens when I no longer exist. Man F this Shhhhhh.”

Whether he craves the attention or has just learned to deal with it, LeBron James is sharing the spotlight in LA for the upcoming season with Luka Doncic. What happens in 2026 is open to debate.
