The NBA legend who once grabbed 49 rebounds over two games, but scored 0 points

This NBA legend posted a rare stat line over two games.

Usually, the most successful superstars in NBA history are players who are dominant scorers from any level of the floor.

For example, Michael Jordan’s mid-range games, LeBron James’ inside scoring, and Stephen Curry’s three-point shooting led to their phenomenal stardom.

However, scoring isn’t the only way to become successful in the league. NBA legend, Dennis Rodman is the perfect example of it.

Rodman is widely known for his defensive contributions to the Detroit Pistons and the Chicago Bulls. During his early NBA career, he developed a knack for being a physical defender for the Pistons.

However, it wasn’t until the 1989-90 season that Rodman hit his defensive stride as he won the maiden NBA Defensive Player of the Year award.

The next season, Rodman averaged more than 10.0 rebounds per game for the first time in his career and maintained that streak until the end of his career.

As an elite defender, Rodman posted some surprising stat lines throughout his career, but none come close to what he did during a two-game stretch during the 1993-94 NBA season.

During back-to-back games in 1993, while he dawned the San Antonio Spurs jersey, Rodman failed to score even a single point.

Yes, he finished with 0 points against the Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings in consecutive games. But still, he didn’t have bad games.

Why? Well, Rodman grabbed 25 rebounds vs. the Suns and 24 rebounds against the Kings, taking his total tally to 49 boards. Unfortunately, he ended up on the losing side both times.

Even with a plethora of amazing stories about Rodman’s lavish life off the court, grabbing 49 rebounds and scoring 0 points isn’t something that fans see too often.
