The Chicago Bulls guard could be on the move prior to the trade deadline this season.
Player movement is key in the current age of the NBA. Many clubs will use trades to facilitate a better roster for title contention or for long-term benefit. The Chicago Bulls are one team that can use trades to build a future of potential success.
The team’s current roster isn’t good enough to be a perennial playoff team, let alone a title contender. The Bulls could soon be set to move on from players like Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic — veteran players with the capability of providing a winning impact on a win-now team.
According to a recent report from Sun Times’ Joe Cowley, the team is expected to “aggressively shop Lonzo Ball.”
The Bulls guard spent years off the court dealing with his injury, and he recently made his return to the hardwood and can be a great contributor to a winning-caliber squad this season. Here are three teams that could trade for Ball.

How about a little reunion? After playing high school basketball at a local school, Chino Hills, Ball opted to go to UCLA for one season — where he emerged as a viral superstar. He was then selected No. 2 overall by the Lakers.
The Lakers are in clear need of change within their roster, and a three-and-D player like Ball can be a perfect fit for the club — even if he wasn’t years ago when he was traded in 2019. Ball can be a playmaker, shooter and stout perimeter defender to play off both LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
Risky idea for the Lakers? Sure. But they don’t quite have the luxury of playing the safe game. They aren’t good enough and need a roster shakeup.
The Suns are keen on the idea that they like their core built around Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal. Among those three elite scorers, there is a need for a few things. They need a playmaker, floor spacing to have room to work and a stout defender to help on that side of the ball. Ball sounds like a match made in heaven for them.
There is concern regarding injury history, though there is a perfect on-court fit, and the Suns should heavily look into making a deal with the Bulls.
The idea of two brothers playing in the NBA together isn’t new — it’s often done as there’s an obvious want for siblings to play alongside one another. It happens to be that LaMelo Ball, Lonzo’s brother, is a superstar for the Hornets. If he wants to play with his brother, the club should at least look into making it happen.
Ball would slot in perfectly in the lineup alongside LaMelo and Brandon Miller, two young stars. The two have loads of potential, and the skillset Ball could provide in the lineup could help them achieve such, while also giving them a clear identity on the offensive side of the ball.
