The Toronto Raptors are set to have an exciting offseason with a few big decisions set to be made.
Masai Ujiri has in the past shown that he is not afraid of making bold moves and with the team having been out of the playoffs for a few years, it seems like the Toronto Raptors are going to take a big step this offseason.
RJ Barrett is a player that is expected to be on the trade block, while players like Immanuel Quickley and Gradey Dick could also be included in trade packages for another star player.
NBA Analysis also constructed a blockbuster trade offer that the Raptors could present to bring in Giannis Antetokounmpo.
As part of this trade, we included the number nine pick in the 2025 NBA draft.
Now General Manager Bobby Webster has stated that the Raptors do not have any certainty on who they are picking at ninth.
The Raptors GM made an appearance on the Hello and Welcome podcast, discussing the team’s plan for the 2025 draft.
They have the ninth and the 39th pick with the GM confirming they have invited a bunch of players to assess their options.
He said: “Right now what I can give you is we probably have it down to five people at nine right now.
“It’s not like there’s 20 people, we’ve narrowed it down, the hard part is you don’t know who’s going to go in front of you. You don’t know who’s going to be there.
“You have to do your homework if someone in the top eight falls.”
ESPN‘s Mock Draft has the Raptors pick Noa Essengue ninth in the draft.
Essengue is currently playing for Ulm in Germany and his team is playing in the Finals against Bayern Munich.
The Frenchman made his EuroCup debut as a 16-year-old and is the second youngest player in this draft.
However, the Raptors could end up trading the pick in exchange for a star player.
They have been linked with the likes of Antetokounmpo and even Kevin Durant from the Phoenix Suns.
It is going to take a lucrative deal to bring those stars in and ideally a pick in the lottery would have to be involved.
With less than a week until the draft, the Raptors will be active in the market to see if they can land a star using their pick.
If not, Ace Bailey has been a name doing rounds around the league and is reported to drop down in the draft.
According to his agents, he is not believed to fall as low as ninth.
But if there is an option, the Raptors should try and bring him in as he is a solid player and can be a great addition to their young roster,
