“Christmas came early,” McKinney wrote in an accompanying caption. “See [you] guys International Fight Week.”
McKinney (16-7) has earned a reputation as one of the UFC’s most exciting fighters despite mixed results inside the octagon. He is 6-4 as a UFC fighter and has never gone to a decision in his career, with several of his bouts ending in under half a round. In his most recent outing this past February, “T, Wrecks” needed barely two minutes to score a knockout of Damir Hadzovic.
Borshchev (8-5-1) is no stranger to thrilling the fans. In eight UFC appearances, “Slava Claus” has earned three post-fight bonuses, including a Fight of the Night for a thrilling three-round battle with Nazim Sadykhov that ended in a majority draw. He is coming off of a loss to Tom Nolan this past February and is just 1-2-1 in his past four appearances.
UFC 317 is headlined by a vacant lightweight title bout between the undefeated Ilia Topuria and former champion Charles Oliveira. In the co-main event, flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja goes for his fourth straight title defense when he takes on Australia’s Kai Kara-France.
