The WWE isn’t the only promotion putting on a Royal Rumble this weekend.

On Friday, massively popular Spanish YouTuber Jordi Wild returned with the latest iteration of his Dogfight Wild Tournament promotion in Spain. Wild first jumped into the combat sports promotion game in 2023 with his first Dogfight Wild Tournament featuring a variety of bouts, including MMA, boxing with four-ounce gloves, slap-fighting, a 2-on-1 fight, bare-knuckle boxing, and more. He then upped the ante for his second foray into the space with Dogfight Wild Tournament 2nd Impact, featuring a no-rules fight, 2-on-2 MMA, a 5-on-1 “Last Survivor” bout, a four-man “Bloodsport Tournament” that was striking only, and a 3-on-1 bout in the main event.

That’s certainly a lot to live up to but Wild did his best to do just that on Friday with Dogfight Wild Tournament 3, featuring a “No Rules” fight, a 2v2 bout, multiple car fights, a medieval knight fight, and a main event “Royal Rumble” between 10 combatants. All of the action was overseen by Wild who emceed the event in a Roman gladiator outfit.

The main event was a true “Royal Rumble,” meaning if a fighter was pushed out of the square completely onto the red mats, they fighter was eliminated. Unfortunately, many fighters didn’t seem to get that memo and after the bout began, chaos ensued, with a number of fighters getting eliminated and attempting to continue on.

Ultimately, Wild clarified things and reset the action where fans were immediately treated to a lesson in alliances, as three men quickly formed one and proceeded to run roughshod over their competition. Then, once everyone else had been eliminated, the triumvirate celebrated, hugged, and battled it out, with the two smaller men ganging up on “Goliath” before then competing head to head. In the end, a quick arm-triangle choke from 9-11 MMA fighter Alex “Killer” Quilez ended things and established him as the first Royal Rumble winner.

Earlier in the evening, there a car fight tournament. Car-fighting is almost exactly what it sounds like, with one major difference: since it takes place in a convertible, you can win by throwing your opponent out, which is exactly what happened when Alberto Romero threw Izan Plou out of the car.

Romero then met Hugo Garcia in the main event where he delivered some truly vicious knees and elbows, searching for the win.

Garcia survived and the bout went to the judges where Romero won a decision.

The evening also featured a medieval knight fight, which is also exactly what it sounds like, with two men in full plate armor doing battle like in the days of old.

But the highlight of the entire evening was the 2-v-2 “special rules” fight that occurred on the undercard. Like most 2-v-2 fights, the bout quickly devolved into two concurrent 1-v-1 matchups, until the team of Zdravko Tarnadzhiev and Aitor Gaspar and gained the upper hand when Tarnadzhiev hurt Fabio Brasil and then took advantage of this to club Joel Infante, who was engaged in a leg lock battle with Gaspar, taking him out of the equation. That left poor, hurt Brasil in a 2-v-1 situation, which is much worse than 2-v-2 and the team of “Bad News and Gaps” claimed victory.

EXCEPT NOT!

The “special rules” of the bout meant that after winning, Tarnadzhiev and Gaspar now had to fight each other, and despite his admirable part in winning the team portion of things, Gaspar was outmatched against Tarnadzhiev and got knocked out in short order.

That’s the thing about Dogfight Wild Tournament, you never know what’s going to happen.
