Mohammed Siraj calls on the crowd

Siraj has been breathing fire in the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025, and he has delivered a performance that will be remembered for a very long time.

He has featured in all five matches for the India National Cricket Team and bowled his heart out for the side. Siraj is the only Indian bowler to play all five Test matches in the ongoing series, and the only other bowler who has also featured in all the matches is England’s Chris Woakes, who suffered a shoulder injury on Day 1 itself.

The best of Mohammed Siraj has been seen in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, and a similar kind of situation has happened in the fifth Test, which the pace spearhead Bumrah is missing due to workload management.

Mohammed Siraj bagged a stunning 4-wicket haul in the second innings of the match by dismissing Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jacob Bethell, and Harry Brook.

Then, in the final innings, Siraj has bowled exceptionally well and has already taken the two wickets of Zak Crawley and Ollie Pope.

Siraj has also performed the duties of a senior player in the team very well, as he was seen charging up his teammates and bringing the crowd into the game as well.

When England were at 335/5 with 39 runs needed to win and Joe Root (105*) alongside Jamie Smith (1*) in the middle, Siraj was seen firing up the crowd, which the commentator felt was a Virat Kohli-style act from the premier pacer. The gesture by Siraj paid dividends as Prasidh Krishna was successful in dismissing Joe Root for 105.

He is the sort of bloke a captain absolutely loves – Nasser Hussain

Speaking earlier, former England National Cricket Team captain Nasser Hussain praised Mohammed Siraj and compared him to Darren Gough. Husaain said that the Indian pacer is any captain’s dream bowler as he bowls lethal spells without getting tired. He elaborated:

“With Chris Woakes going down injured for England, Siraj is the only fast bowler who has lasted the course of the series and put in spell after spell.

“He is the sort of bloke a captain absolutely loves. He lifts the team. I always talk about Darren Gough being that sort of person when I was England captain, and Siraj is that man for India.

“I have been hugely impressed with the character and fight they have shown throughout this series. Some people thought they might roll over after the way they lost at Headingley, but they have since shown what a tough side they are to beat.

“They have won as many sessions as England, if not more. They have just been found wanting in some of the crucial moments. It is especially impressive when you consider they lost legends Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli right before the series,” Hussain added.
