Bangladesh fast bowler Taskin Ahmed beat young Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal with a sensational delivery during the opening day of the first Test match.
However, Taskin Ahmed failed to produce the edge off Yashasvi Jaiswal’s bat to give his team a breakthrough in the ongoing red-ball match.
Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto opted to bowl first after winning the toss at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Thursday, September 19.
The visiting team’s bowlers made the most of the pace-friendly conditions to trouble Indian batters in the first session on Day 1.

The incident happened on the first ball of the third over in India’s first innings. Taskin Ahmed delivered a stunning delivery to Yashasvi Jaiswal.
The ball pitched on leg and moved away sharply, but Jaiswal was fortunate not to have edged it. Umpire Richard Kettleborough was visibly surprised by the delivery.
