What Miami Heat and Pat Riley will feel about Kevin Love mocking Jimmy Butler drama, ex-star explains

A massive Jimmy Butler decision is on the horizon.

The Miami Heat are fed up with Jimmy Butler. He’s been suspended for a third time this season, though this time it will be an indefinite decision that will run a minimum of five games. That is what the situation has come to following even more petty actions from the Heat forward.

Recently, after Butler heard he was headed to the bench, the forward walked out of practice, making even more of a mockery of the situation. He’s not taking the club seriously and is causing even more issues — which Miami won’t stand for, hence the suspension.

Even more now than ever, expect Butler to be traded. His trade price has fallen again and a move feels like it’s coming in the very near future.

On more occasions than one, Butler has tried to punk the heat — just like he did on his way out of the Minnesota Timberwolves back in the day. This is nothing new. However, it’s surprising given how Pat Riley has run the Heat in history.

Even more embarrassing than that — veteran forward Kevin Love has been taking to Instagram to make jokes about every situation unfolding between the club and Butler, something that has been a big part of making the organization look more like a joke.

According to former NBA veteran Chandler Parsons, Riley and Erik Spoelstra won’t love what Love has done throughout the situation, as he revealed on a recent episode of “Run it Back.”

“The Kevin Love thing’s interesting. And listen, I think it’s wildly funny. I love when he first did it. I’m all about a good little petty little bit here, but this is getting out of hand, right?” Parsons said.

“And if I’m Pat Riley, I’m the Heat, I’m Spo, I’m this whole organization. I can’t love that. One of my vet, current players are hopping on this, making even more of a mockery about it again.”

While Love might be instigating, his actions are all in good fun on social media. What Butler is doing isn’t good for his own image in the league, nor the Heat given Riley spoiled the relationship with his actions.

Given Butler’s history with teams, trade demands and overall drama — this comes as no surprise. NBA veteran Lou Williams made a point that he claimed the situation was always going to get worse, not exactly better.

“I told you two weeks ago it was gonna get worse. There was no solution with either side,” Williams said.

With a trade location in mind — anywhere but Miami — Butler wants out of South Beach. Of course, it’s no secret he prefers the Phoenix Suns, but it’s hard to imagine the forward isn’t happier with any other organization.

The Butler saga coming to an end will be such a relief for the Heat, as the club has a strong culture with one bad apple right now. Butler will be better off with a new club, too, as Riley spoiled the relationship between the two.
