Who is Arthur Kaluma? Los Angeles Lakers’ latest NBA training camp signing

The Los Angeles Lakers have tweaked their roster following the conclusion of the NBA Summer League.

The Los Angeles Lakers failed to qualify for the playoffs in the 2025 NBA Summer League. Despite that, there were a few standouts during the campaign.

Of course, Bronny James had multiple excellent performances, including a defensive masterclass against Cooper Flagg of the Dallas Mavericks.

Putting that aside, the Lakers signed four undrafted players – RJ Davis, Arthur Kaluma, Eric Dixon, and Augustas Marciulionis – to Exhibit 10 contracts.

The 6’7, 220 lbs forward declared for the 2025 NBA Draft after spending four seasons in college. Despite a stellar NCAA career, Kaluma went undrafted.

He averaged 12.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game over 134 appearances during his college career. But as far as his shooting is concerned, Kaluma certainly has some room for improvement.

Stats Freshman Sophomore Junior Senior
Points 10.4 PPG 11.8 PPG 14.4 PPG 12.3 PPG
Rebounds 5.4 RPG 6.0 RPG 7.0 RPG 7.5 RPG
Assists 1.3 APG 1.6 APG 2.0 APG 1.8 APG

After all, he shot 43.8% from the field and 32.1% from the three-point line in college. While he can improve that, Kaluma’s notable strength is his stellar rebounding.

The 23-year-old showed continued growth in the department, and he could impress the Lakers with it to ultimately earn a better deal.

Considering Kaluma has signed an Exhibit 10 deal, it means he has earned a shot at the Lakers’ training camp.

If he impresses there, he could earn a nod for pre-season games and finally, a two-way contract. But he needs to perform better than he did during Summer League.

Kaluma’s most notable contributions were 4.5 points and 2.0 rebounds per game during the Summer League.

The Lakers seem to trust Kaluma to reach his NCAA heights, at least in terms of rebounding. After all, he led his team in rebounds per game during his final year with the Texas Longhorns.
