‘You just blew it’… Chris Broussard unhappy with what Anthony Edwards did after Minnesota Timberwolves loss

NBA analyst Chris Broussard was left unhappy with how Anthony Edwards carried himself after Minnesota Timberwolves’ 88-99 loss in Game 1 against the Golden State Warriors.

Anthony Edwards scored 23 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, but he did not have a great night shooting the ball, going 9-22 from the field.

Despite Steph Curry going out injured in the second quarter, the Minnesota Timberwolves just looked off throughout the night and gave away the game at home.

After the Game 1 loss, Edwards was called out by his coach Chris Finch, who blamed his leadership as one of the reasons behind the team’s failure.

The 23-year-old seemed quite composed in his post game press conference and was all laughs despite the loss at home.

This was not taken well by Chris Broussard, who criticised Edwards’ actions after the game.

Edwards has a fun loving personality and he is often goofy in his post game interviews.

However, Broussard expected the three-time All-Star to be a little less happy after a loss in the playoffs.

He said: “The things that make us love him, the jovial personality, the charisma, the smile, you know, kind of living in the moment, all of that is is a great strength, and that’s why we love him.

“But it’s also why I thought in this press conference, I didn’t like the demeanor of not just him, mainly him, though he was up there with Naz Reid and Julius Randle, I didn’t like the demeanor in the press conference. I don’t need to see a smile when you just blew it against a team that has one bonafide bucket, one, and that includes Jimmy Butler, one bonafide bucket.

“He gets hurt in the first half, and you lose going away, and y’all up there smiling, acting like it’s no big deal.

“He should have been p____d. You think, Kobe, Jordan, Steph, LeBron would have been up there all like ‘no big deal?”

With Curry out, Buddy Hield, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green stepped up for the team.

However, the players on the Timberwolves were not able to show up on a rare Edwards off night.

This time around Finch’s men have the advantage of playing the Warriors without Curry, who will be out injured for at least the next two games.

If the Timberwolves can make use of Curry’s absence, they could win the series quite comfortably as he is one of the most dangerous players in the league and without him the Warriors often struggle.

Edwards shared how Steve Kerr helped him out before he even made it to the NBA, which is why it will be interesting to see how he returns after the lack of efficiency in Game 1.

His two-way ability powered by his leadership has been a massive part of the Timberwolves’ resurgence in the past few years.

Edwards has always responded well to criticism, the same will be expected from him again as experts have called him out for his demeanour and attitude following the Game 1 loss.
